Okay, people…..the kids are back at school and settled, summer is clearly over and so now that leaves you.

It is time to get your shit together and set up your fall fitness & health routine.

Those of you who know me know that I LOVE September. Not for the weather or the changing colours and all that other poetic stuff people wax on about. Yes, the leaves are pretty, I’ll give you that but I am perfectly happy with summer weather all year round.

I LOVE September because, for me, it’s OPPORTUNITY! September signals new and fresh. It’s the beginning of a new year and it’s when I feel most creative and productive. Yes, January is the actual ‘new year’ but September has always been more of the new year to me than January.

This September is especially exciting for me because I moved from where I lived for 18 years to the city. I took a leap of faith and literally jumped from the pond to the ocean. And I’m super excited about it. (Sometimes I feel nauseous about it too but mainly excited;)

Anywho….after a summer of no routine, alcoholic beverages (hello Nudes!), yummy BBQs, chips, chilling & beaching it, it is time for us to get our shit together!

Have you registered for fitness classes yet? Or have figured out in your schedule where you can fit fitness in? Have you hired a personal trainer yet? Or a life coach?

What are you doing to work toward your health & fitness goals this fall season?

If you want to be really successful with your fitness & health goals, follow these steps.

  1. Write fitness into your weekly schedule.

Treat your workouts like any other important appointment. You actually take your pen and write in your workout days & times. That way, your workouts don’t get shuffled to the bottom of the list and then just don’t get done because you’re too exhausted.

2. Sign up for a class & pre-pay.

This works every single time. Why? Because if you don’t show up, you just wasted all that money. Who wants to shell out $ and then not show up? This also works because it’s the above step included in step 2. Not only have you paid for the classes but now it’s also in your schedule. 3. Join a class with a friend.

This is not only super fun but it hits 2 birds with one stone. How challenging is it these days to get together with your friends? Well, if you join a fitness program/class together, not only are you working out but you get to hang out with your friend too. Just make sure you choose a friend that isn’t known for jamming on you.

4. Hire a Life Coach.

A life coach can help you figure out why it is you actually never stick to a fitness routine. You see, every season people make great plans on joining a gym, getting back into fitness, eating better, meditating daily, sleeping more, etc. etc. BUT….how often do you actually stick to it for the long term? Maybe you’ve got one of those things down but can’t seem to stick to exercising daily. Or maybe you can’t ditch your sugar habit. Or maybe you are just plain overwhelmed with trying to figure it all out for yourself.

This is where a coach comes in. A life coach helps you identify your stuck habits and works with you to eliminate them and adopt new positive habits. Remember that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over, expecting different results. So, if that’s you, maybe it’s time to try something different. A life coach helps you do just that.

There you have it! Four ways you can get your shit together;)
